Celebrate Easter in style with our delectable Chocolate Easter Cake. This irresistible treat promises to be the highlight of your festive table. It consists of a moist and rich chocolate cake topped generously with a luscious cream cheese frosting. Preheat the oven to 350F (180C). Grease with butter an 8-inch (20cm) pan and line with parchment paper.
Melt chocolate and butter over a bain-marie until smooth. Let cool to room temperature.
Meanwhile beat the eggs with sugar and salt using a whisk or mixer until thick and light yellow. Mix in vanilla extract.
Add melted chocolate and mix until well combined.
Using a spatula fold in sifted flour. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
Bake for about 25 minutes until set. Run a sharp knife completely around the inside edge of the pan. Let cool for 10 minutes and invert onto a serving plate. Let cool completely.
Prepare the cream cheese frosting.
In a separate mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, honey, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Once the cake has cooled, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top of the cake.
Decorate with chocolate eggs of different sizes and colors. Enjoy!
